Validation and Verification Accreditation Program

AIAC provides accreditation for organizations that validate or verify claims, helping ensure impartiality, competence, and reliability. Accredited validation and verification bodies (VVBs) give stakeholders confidence that the statements made by companies and organizations are accurate, transparent, and backed by rigorous assessment.

The ISO/IEC 17029 standard establishes requirements for VVBs to evaluate the correctness of claims across industries. Just as products and services are held to quality standards, organizations’ statements—especially those related to sustainability, environmental performance, and corporate responsibility—can now be assessed against uniform, international criteria.

With the growing number and complexity of claims, particularly in sustainability reporting, AIAC ISO/IEC 17029 accreditation enables independent third parties to assess claims objectively. The standard requires clear identification of the claim itself and the associated validation or verification program, ensuring structured and consistent evaluation.
